It all started with one powerful molecule
Back in the late 1990s, Professors Mike Murphy and Robin Smith — our visionary founders — set out to tackle a critical challenge in human health.
They proposed a bold idea: that a specialized antioxidant could address this problem directly within the cells where it starts.
While many dismissed the concept as unrealistic, the two scientists were confident that antioxidants had untapped potential. Fueled by New Zealand’s signature spirit of determination, they made it happen.
At the University of Otago in the South Island of New Zealand, researchers developed a groundbreaking molecule with a rare capability — it could be absorbed straight into mitochondria, the cell’s energy centers.
This innovation positioned them as pioneers in a new era of targeted molecules, now recognized as crucial to advancing cellular health.
Their goal was to make a meaningful impact on human health. Once the benefits of Longlived became undeniable, they shifted gears and introduced it as a wellness product accessible to all.

Professor Mike Murphy
Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (FMedSci), Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand (FRS hon)
Professor Murphy co-developed the Longlived molecule and serves as a professor in mitochondrial redox biology at the University of Cambridge’s MRC mitochondrial biology unit.

With 16 years of marketing experience, Anita Langley brings deep expertise in brand strategy, revitalization, and global product development. At Longlived, she leads consumer innovation by translating insights into success across diverse international markets.
Matt Huttner
General Manager, US and International
Matt Huttner brings extensive experience in leading growth across Mainland China and the Asia-Pacific region. His work in diverse sectors—ranging from education to consumer health for global companies—makes him a valuable asset to Longlived. In his role spearheading New Growth, Matt drives innovation and market development in China, the US, and worldwide.

Siobhan Mitchell
Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Siobhan Mitchell, with a PhD from SUNY Albany and postdoctoral research on brain aging from the University of Washington, leads Longlived scientific efforts. With over 15 years of experience, seven patents, and more than 50 published studies on topics such as aging, cognitive health, and nutrition, she brings scientific depth and innovation to the team.
